ETS2 v1.3, ETS 3
Dear User Club Members,
actually, I only react when it concerns EIB technology or EIB product problems that seem not to get solved, or when really faulty things are being told. For the rest, it's of course your forum: I don't react to questions on products ("Which is the best actuator?" ... hey, I must remain neutral) or on installation practical questions.
But ... I LOOK every day !
==> ETS 3
Internally, that is within the working groups of EIBA, we have Beta versions since long. We expect a real big test by November and release by Spring next year. This depends less on the errors and problems than on the amount of features we put in.
==> ETS2 v1.3
You all know about the serial communication problems. These are due to differences in the operating systems, BIOS, chips, ... which all are increasingly less compatible to each other and to the RS232 standard. RS232 is dissapearing, and no computer manufacturer or chip manufacturer puts a lot of money in something that is only used to connect a mouse or PDA...
The only place to handle all these incompatibilities is in the driver (though the driver itself is actually OK).
The drivers used in ETS2 v1.3 are newer than the ones used in ETS2 v1.2 with the NT update. So, it's always better to use ETS2 v1.3, because you will have the least communication problems then.
