Hi,

Anyone having an idea on how to capture an Ethernet (TCP/IP) stream and display it on the HomeServer ?

The Ethernet stream is ASCII, generated by the output of a RS232-Ethernet converter, containing 6 values, which I would like to display on an info page on the HS.

Thanks for the hints.

It is not possible - IMHO - to display a continous stream of data.

It is possible to perform read request on your serial converter by performing "Webseitenabfrage" which means "http-request and parsing answer"

But maybe I didn't make myself very clear: I do not want to "display" the stream in a continuous way, but rather capture it, extract the meaningfull data and update a HS info page, i.e. every 30 sec

OK, but the stream is not formatted as http, it is rather raw data.
In the same context, suppose I want to capture data from an RSS feed, and display it on the HS, would your suggestion work ?

Thank you for your help.

It doesn't matter, if the "stream" is not formatted. HS exactly does, what you want!

I use this feature quite often to periodically call the status of several devices via RS232-Ethernet-Converters.

It is also possible to extrakt RSS-Feeds, there are already many projects for this.

One of them from DACOMs homepage:

If you have problems with understanding, just ask!

Well, the help file is a bit short for me.
Any pointer to an example about a http request and one about a RSS feed (the last ptr was about SMS)

Thank you in advance

A sample for reading RSS-Feeds is on the way to you!
