First question:
I'm considering buying the GIRA Homeserver to control my EIB home via an intranet. I would like to integrate the user interface into my home portal.

Would I be able to design my own HTML pages and when my daughter clicks on the light in the living room (via our home portal), I send a request to the homeserver software?

Based on the things I've read, the Homeserver should be a Java applet. So if the applet allows to set parameters, I should be able to control the applet via Javascript (or perhaps java?).

Has anybody tried this?

Would this also be possible with other internet gateways (eg. Merten IC1)?

Second question:
Would the Homeserver also be able to trigger html commands?

I am running an MP3 server on my computer with an html frontend. Would the Homeserver be able to call eg. "http://myserver:8080/musicserver?track=next" when I'm clicking on a real light switch in the living room?

As a result the music server will skip to the next track.

Thanks for your answer

Ivan

BTW Feel free to answer in German

The new HS 2 version 2 which will be out in April or May this year has several features to help you:

First, it will provide an open interface via XML.

Second, it will send and receive IP-messages over the network.

You can find all the improvements for the upcoming version under the following link (in German only):

BTW, I'm not a salesman, I'm a freak! And I love this machine!

You can give us a link for this system or is it "homemade"?

I think he doesn't want you to skip to the next CD track in his livingroom :D

Ah, ok, you meant the manufacturer company of this system... :D :D :D

Brilliant!!

Imagine a party in your neighbours house and YOU can control the volume and mood of the music coming through your open bedroom window just with a click on your PDA!

I have bought a couple of SonicBlue Rio Receivers. They retrieve MP3's from my server's harddisk. So far I'm using the build-in software, but I am planning to use the jreceiver-software to control each receiver through an intranet application.
