The only reason that I remember for using a dummy, was to "fool" ETS that some Group Address was used on some side of the Line Coupler to make ETS take these Group Addresses into account when calculating the Line Coupler's Filter Table.

Meanwhile, you can add Group Addresses manually in ETS and dummy applications are no longer used to this purpose. Or do you have a different purpose?
